supporting implementation of the Raritan Basin Watershed Management Plan,
including:
Delaware & Raritan Canal
Non-point Source Management Project - Responsible managing a project funded by a
Section 319(h) grant from NJDEP. The
project will address non-point sources of pollution from influent water sources
to the Canal in the vicinity of drinking water intakes.
All stormwater “infalls” to the Canal were assessed to determine
which ones contribute the most pollutants and suspended sediment to the Canal.
Conceptual approaches for the management of non-point source loads were
developed.
EPA Watershed Initiative Project
for the Raritan Basin - This project is part of a three-year, $2+ million
project. Ms. Hale is responsible for project activities in the mainstem Raritan
and Spruce Run project areas. These
activities will focus on stream assessment and restoration, stormwater system
improvements to address turbidity at a water supply intake in Bridgewater and
River Friendly programs.
Manalapan Lake Restoration Plan – This project focused on developing a Lake
Restoration Plan, as required by the Manalapan Lake TMDL, that will identify
specific watershed and in-lake management strategies to restore the lake’s
uses.
